*This post is only about food and miscellaneous things in Roma. My Vatican and Angels and Demons pictures and stories will be on separate posts to come. Sorry for the delay. Lots of pictures to sift through. Thanks for reading!
Sadly, we had to leave beautiful Venezia. I really loved it and already want to go back. I will definitely be visiting there again.
Our hotel had a fantastic breakfast. Breakfast in Europe is just wonderful. Fresh bread. I’ve had a crossaint almost every morning for breakfast, and I see myself buying a lot of crossaints when I get home (even though they will not be anywhere near as good as here, hope you like crossaints, Alex, because that’s what we’re going to be eating 😜).
We had a bit of time before our train so we walked around to a couple more places.
We had lunch at a cafe at the train station. It was amazing. So simple. Cheap. This is how fast food in America needs to be.
We got on a train to Roma. It was about 3 hours on a high speed train. Train riding is not for me. I definitely get motion sickness and have to just try to sleep. This was way better than the overnight ride though.
When we arrived in Roma, we settled into our hotel room and, upon recommendation, headed to a restaurant in the area that had fresh pasta.
I had tiramisu and my dad had semifreddo.
After this, I saw a Mr. Mime (Available in Europe only) on Pokemon Go, because yes, I’m still that nerd that plays, and he ran away. So mad.
We went back to the hotel and rode this scary elevator.
It was scary but we made it alive.
Breakfast the next morning was simple and delicious again (take a guess, ANOTHER CROISSANT).
Later, I finally had some amazing gelato. Pistachio, chocolate, and mango.
Roma is so busy. Lots of shops and cars.
For dinner, we ended up at a cute Italian place by our hotel for some more fresh pasta. We started with artichoke and cheese, then I had ravioli with spinach and ricotta, and my dad had the gnocchi alla Bolognese.
Vatican and Angels and Demons posts to come soon! Stay tuned!
P.S. I caught Mr.Mime!
