One of the main reasons we are in Roma is to visit the Vatican. One of those things I always wanted to do but never thought I would.
Anybody who knows me moderately well knows that I am not religious, that I have hugely struggled with my faith and what I believe in for many years. However, I still am at awe in the beauty of these churches and museums that hold God in the highest regard. Regardless of what I believe, I am not above recognizing the love and beauty in these things. Please enjoy.
Getting ready. Dress code for these churches. No shorts or sleeveless shirts.
The next picture is of the Sistine Chapel. I cried at how beautiful it was, and how I never thought I would see this beautiful ceiling in person. Michelangelo was absolutely remarkable. The staff was pretty strict about no photos, even though everyone was taking them. Yeah I broke the rules and took one, so did my dad, sorry for crap angle, but I couldn’t help myself. Like I said, it brought me to tears, and I was so overwhelmed at its magnificence.
